Inspired by David Nixon and Chan Canasta as a young boy, Mike Smith was fascinated by the art of magic and illusion. As soon as he could afford to buy his first magic book, he started studying and practicing to become a magician and psychological reader. Since then Mike has perfected his craft and has developed his
own unique style, leaving audiences stunned, amazed and wanting more.

Being a skilled specialist Mike has become an award winning close-up magician and cabaret artist, specializing in psychological techniques and mind reading, as well as close-up magic. Since 1990 Mike Smith has won several trophies in competitions, which has earned him the respect of his peers.
He is a member of the most prestigious magical society in the world, THE MAGIC CIRCLE. Over the years Mike has proven his abilities to the magical society and has been awarded the status of Inner Magic Circle Member with silver star ( A.I.M.C ). This is the highest award obtainable from the Magic Circle by examination only.

Mike is also a member of the I.B.M which stands for the International Brotherhood of Magicians and a member of the actors and variety union EQUITY. They provide Mike's PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE for the
sum of £10,000,000.

Mike has travelled abroad and has worked in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain and Holland, as well as all over the united kingdom. He has worked with some of the top names in show business. These include : Sir Norman Wisdom, Ronnie Corbett, Frankie Vaughan, Bert Weedon, Jess Conrad, Brian connelly, June Brown and Wendy Richard's to name but a few. Mike has also performed for Sir John Mill's, Sir David Frost, Felicity kendall, Bab's and Robert Powell, Judith Chalmers, Dennis Bergkamp, Nicholas Parsons and Alan Titchmarsh. Mike has worked for Gordon Ramsay since 2002 in his restaurant chain. He has performed at St James Palace on several occasions for the Water Rats and at Buckingham Palace in the presence of members of the royal family.
